Dear Students,
According to Article 3 of the "NSYSU Guidelines for Enhancing English Proficiency in Undergraduate Students," you are required to take the "113 Academic Year, First Semester English Placement Test" organized by our university to determine your English proficiency level. Students who do not take this test will be automatically placed in the basic English level.
Details of the test schedule and regulations are as follows:
Exemption from the Test: If you are a national of an English-speaking country (e.g., UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, or other countries where English is the native language), you are exempt from this test. Please prepare your passport and academic transcripts from middle school (or higher) and submit an exemption application to our center.
Test Date and Time: Monday, September 9, 113th year, from 16:10 to 17:25.
Test Venue: SC1001, College of Science.
Test Content: English Listening and Reading Comprehension.
Test Regulations:
You must bring your student ID or other photo identification (ID card, driver’s license, passport, or residence permit for international or overseas students) as well as a 2B pencil, blue or black pen, and an eraser for the test.
Once the test begins, no one is allowed to leave early.
Checking Placement Results:
You can check your placement results on Tuesday, September 10, on the Siwan College website under "Latest News" or through the student course selection system under "English Placement Inquiry."
Please register for courses according to your placement results during the first phase of course add/drop (September 12-13) and the second phase (September 19-20).

If you are unable to attend the test but have an external English proficiency test result (within the last two years), you may apply for a change in placement or exemption from the General English courses.

Criteria for Changing Placement Level:
You can apply for a change in placement before taking any General English courses.
TOEIC score of 550 → Change to Intermediate Level
TOEIC score of 600 → Change to Upper-Intermediate Level
TOEIC score of 700 → Change to Advanced Level
Criteria for Exemption from General English Courses (Applicable to students admitted from the 113th academic year):
